General Maintenance & Oil Changes
When should I get my oil changed?
For most vehicles, we recommend an oil change every 3,000 miles or according to your owner’s manual. If you prefer extended intervals, ensure you are using high-quality oil designed for higher mileage.
What is synthetic motor oil and do I need it?
Synthetic motor oil is ideal for high-output, turbocharged, or supercharged engines, as well as vehicles used for towing. While more expensive than mineral-based oils, synthetic oil improves fuel economy, provides instant lubrication on start-up, and performs better in extreme hot or cold climates.
What does "milky brown" engine oil mean?
Milky brown oil usually indicates coolant contamination. This is a serious issue often caused by a blown head gasket, failed transmission cooler, or cracked engine casing. If you see this, contact a professional technician immediately.
Tires, Brakes & Battery Care
How often should I rotate my tires?
To prevent premature tire wear, you should rotate your tires every 6,000 miles (roughly every other oil change).
How do I maintain a good battery connection?
Corroded battery terminals can lead to starting issues. We inspect and clean battery cables during every oil change. If we find corrosion, we provide a free battery cleaning service and apply a protective additive to ensure a strong electrical connection.
Engine Diagnostics & Repairs
What should I do if my "Check Engine" light comes on?
If your Service Engine Soon light is illuminated, a sensor has detected a fault in your engine or emissions system. Note: In counties requiring emissions testing, a vehicle will fail if this light is on. Have it diagnosed early to avoid expensive breakdowns or failed inspections.
My car is overheating—what now?
Stop driving immediately. Pull over to a safe location and turn off the engine. Do not open the radiator cap, as the pressurized fluid can cause severe burns. Contact us or our 24-hour roadside assistance partners for a safe tow and diagnostic.
Is timing belt replacement really necessary?
Yes. Replacing your timing belt at the manufacturer’s recommended interval is vital. If a timing belt fails while driving, it can cause catastrophic engine damage that costs thousands more than a simple belt replacement.
Filters, Plugs & Fuses
When should I replace my spark plugs?
For peak fuel economy, standard spark plugs should be replaced every 30,000 miles. If your car uses Platinum or Iridium plugs, they should be inspected at 60,000 miles; these can often last up to 100,000 miles with proper maintenance.
How often do I need a new fuel filter?
We recommend replacing your fuel filter every 30,000 miles to ensure dependable engine performance and prevent fuel pump strain.
What should I do about a blown fuse?
Always replace a fuse with one of the exact same amperage. If the same fuse "blows" repeatedly, there is likely a short or defect in the circuit that requires a professional electrical inspection.

Suspension Failure:
This is an example of a failed ball joint, the wheel completely can fall inward or outward depending upon which ball joint failed. In this case the lower failed. If the repair would have been made at the time it was recommended it would have been around $200, but in this situation the tow, body damage and other component damage due to the collapse led to over $600 and could have been life threatening, luckily the driver was moving at a slow speed and was in light traffic.
Tire Failure:
A dry rotted tire is just as bad if not worse than a worn out tire. A purchase of a used tire with tread, but has passed its useful life as any product can lead to harmful and lethal repercussions. Expired meats, eggs, or others foods can smell, and look the same but once consumed can lead to poisonous and lethal side effects. A used tire with proper tread, but the rubber itself is dry and seems slightly cracked means it no longer has the same flexibility and cannot withstand the resistance of braking and handling as a new tire. The picture above was taken from a vehicle that was traveling at 50mph; luckily the owner was driving in light traffic and was able to control the vehicle upon its sudden blow out to the shoulder. There have been instances where the blow out was at higher speeds and more traffic and deaths were involved, not only the driver but also other innocent drivers including children. Don’t risk your life or the life of others.
Share the roads responsibly and ethically. Used tire retailers are not held responsible for these malfunctions and do not care about you nor the repercussions, only their profits be careful and educate your self about tire conditions and their expiration dates.

Emissions and Fuel System Failures:
This picture shows what happens when a over pressurized charcoal canister ruptures and contaminates the fuel system. Kia used as example, and common failure due to lack of a simple maintenance of canister filter not being replaced. Many shops are not aware of this required maintenance and can lead to a very expensive repair. This symptom is limited to certain makes and year models, but is very common. The small pellets in the fuel tank are charcoal from the canister that ruptured, this lead to refueling issues at the pump and also to a clogged and failed fuel pump, that should have lasted several years more. The filter service is roughly around $55 to $65, but this repair lead to over $650-$750. Maintenance is the key essential to a effective and low cost operating vehicle that can last for over 250,000 miles as our vehicles do. Spend a little and get a lot in return, for less over time. Spend a little and waste a lot of money prematurely and reduce life expectancy over a long period of time.
